I gave up on this blog when I got too stressed out to keep updating during my engagement. I had a beautiful wedding on August 2 and I am happy beyond words. Thank you to everyone who followed along with me and I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Cuff-Daddy
I don't know when it happened. But I actually find myself liking puns more and more often.
I was just browsing Amazon for some new comic books (nerd alert! Star Wars: Death Times Vol 1) and I saw a link for cufflinks. I know that a lot of brides give their grooms new cufflinks as a wedding day gift. What was #2 on the most popular list but a pair of Superman cufflinks. HA! So I scrolled down some more and found exactly what I first thought of - they have Batman ones!! They are sold by Cuff-Daddy.com, the stupidest name for a website, but it still kinda makes me chortle quietly.
Okay, so they have different kinds OTHER than Batman (i'm batman) - like working compass cufflinks. And slim/sorta dainty/pink cufflinks for WOMEN! WOOO!! Though I don't know any brides who will wear cuffs on their wedding day.. maybe if they dress up as like those Playboy Bunnies for the wedding night maybe? And their groom has an incredible eye for detail and his eyes will zoom in on those wrists!
Check out Cuff-Daddy for your groomsmen.. maybe they'll change their name to Cuff-Diddy one day (they're SOOOoo behind the times!)

Some Wedding Updates.. and Hello again!
It's been a while since I posted and I have to admit it's because I was a little depressed over not being a WeddingBee-bee/fruit/nut/other food. *embarrassed sniffle*
I've really been in a wedding planning mood lately. On Saturday, I went up to NYC to meet my Day of Coordinator, Tara! I really like her and I'm truly relieved that my fiance agreed to having one. I just kept thinking to myself that I know that I don't NEED one, but it would really help to have some sort of wedding expert there, who really would be looking out for my best interests. She talked about the work she would do and then somehow we started talking about internet dating, and then the discussion went into mail-order brides. It was kinda weird. But cool :)
So, a plug to my DOC - Tara from Exquisite Affairs Productions. You get an incredible amount of work for a small price.
In other news - my sister is GRACIOUSLY paying for the band!! It will be her wedding gift to me. I am very very happy. The band she chose is B.D. Lenz. Jazz music and very laid-back style. It was my mom's idea to have my sister pay for the band. Now my mom is trying to wheedle my other sister to pay for the flowers. I don't know if it will work though. My sister is very hard to read and changes moods at a whim!
If I end up paying for the flowers (like I assumed I would), then I'd have to dip into the personal loan that my fiance is approved for (we can use up to $8800, and then pay it back over the next 5 years). I'm nervous about using that, but of course I can't get away with either not paying or not having flowers. Well, maybe I could get away with no flowers, but my soon to be mother-in-law is VERY traditional. She turned her nose down at the thought of having her father perform the ceremony. She is upset that we chose a Japanese sushi buffet as the rehearsal dinner site (she said that rehearsal dinners are supposed to have fixed price per plate!). Of course I want to keep her good impression of me, but I can't help but roll my eyes over the phone. We're modern people, right?

What to do with your arm while spooning

Finally, someone came up with an ACTUAL mattress to solve the cuddling problem!
The Love Mattress: Modern Sleeping Solutions for Couples
by Sarah O, January 02, 2008
Sleeping entwined with another is a novel concept, but there's always the problem of that extra arm. Where does one put it? Mehdi Mojtabvi's Love Mattress offers a simple solution for the chronic limp arm that often results from sleeping while wrapped in a prolonged embrace.
Mojtabvi has studied the embracing styles of couples while in bed and has confirmed what we all know -- that having your arm flattened under your partner's body for prolonged periods of cuddling isn't exactly comfortable. What's more, it may even prove detrimental to your health! Technically speaking, it puts abnormal pressure on the muscles, blood vessels and nerves, and over time can result in a condition termed "radial neuropathy," whose symptoms include weakness in wrist dorsiflexion and finger extension. Love's sweet embrace can be painfulLove's sweet embrace can be painful
Finally, an answer to this age-old predicament has arrived! Winner of the red dot design concept award in 2007, the idea of the Love Mattress is simple: A solid unit makes up the middle portion of the bed, with several adjoining strips of foam connected at either end. Between these slats one can drop their shoulder or arm, allowing for a much more comfortable sleeping position while remaining all snuggled up.
Each polyurethane-injected foam strip is covered with a smooth fabric which allows for easy sliding, and after assembly the whole mattress can be covered with a standard bed linen. Not only is it good for sharing with another, but it also works for other positions, like stomach sleeping, where you can let your foot dip into the gaps.
So, say goodbye to that slack arm. Right now it's still only a concept, but if the Love Mattress hits production mode you'll be good to go for hours of fine spooning action.

Can't wear a bra with your wedding dress?
Then get some Nippies!! Don't be a Lindsey or Tara Reid! Cover those babies up.
They have a whole bridal section, where you can pick from "Like a Virgin", which comes with a pair in white lace and a pair in white satin, "Cherish", which comes with a pair in ivory lace and a pair in ivory satin, or "Something Blue," which of course comes with a pair of blue satin and silver sequin. Can you imagine your new husband's eyes when he sees your "something blue"?!
They cost $15 and you can choose from a variety of cute shapes, from butterflies to stars. They have a silicone version which is the same thing as the NuBra, only even MORE liberating.
I'm so juvenile but I inwardly giggle at the name (and the idea). But honestly, it's a great idea

Back to your regularly scheduled programming
I took a quiet, long leave from this blog and from posting on WeddingBee. I started to feel very burned out and stressed about the upcoming wedding.
But today, I am on top of the clouds. I bought my wedding gown yesterday, and I got it for a deal to boot. I am just so happy.
I can't believe that my wedding dress has turned out so differently from what I vehemently opposed in the beginning. But it turns out - this style of dress really fits my body type the best. I am proud to say I am the owner of a Priscilla of Boston gown, style 3015 in Grigio. It's a silver/gray color - very unique. It's a sample dress, so it will have to be hemmed - but the bodice fits perfectly. Turns out I'm a perfect sample size 8. Who knew?
Since I picked out my gown, I can now finalize my wedding colors and bridal accessories. I am just thrilled and so very in love.
Happy Holidays!
